Watamu Marine Association were one of the excited 2015 Eco Warrior finalists which were announced in a colourful dinner ceremony hosted in our honour on Friday 16th October 2015 at the luxurious Leisure Lodge, Diani, Kwale County.
The Eco Tourism Kenya Gala Dinner was part of the itinerary for Magical Kenya Travel Expo #MKTE2015 which commenced on 15th to 17th October 2015.
Watamu Marine Association was one of the finalists for the 2015 Community Owned Enterprise of the Year Award, Ngare Ndare Forest Trust,
Kaya Kinondo
Kuruwitu Welfare Association/Community Marine Park and
Ol Kinyei Conservancy.
We were represented by our action chair Justin Kitsao and would like to thank the Eco Tourism Team for their kind hospitality, especially Terrianne and Sheila.
We were pipped at the post to winners Ngare Ndare Forest Trust at the end of the evening, a very worthy winner indeed. The fact we got so far on a national level was credit in itself.
