Humpback whales are in Watamu, from July to September. Book a whale watching tour though us, Eco- resorts.com or directly through one of the local fishermen. Please report all sightings to us.
The Giants are here. Humpback whales are on their way travelling from the Antarctic on the Great East African Migration. First sighted in Watamu on the 11th July, we have just had reports in that Kisite -Mpunguti had their first sighting on the 15th July, and Pemba on the 16th July had a record 25 sightings, the huge 18 metre marine ammmals travelling fast north, reported by Capt Sean Delange on Never Say Never.
This year Hemingways will have a whale watching boat available for you in September to see the whales on their journey along the East African coast from the Antarctic
Also book trips with experienced local boat operators like Alleycat Pete, Rob with Unreel and Dave Darnborough from July onwards.
