Here at The Charming Lonno Lodge Watamu we have very little to offer. Only heartwarming sun, an ever changing light, astonishing silence, refreshing breeze, breathtaking views, stunning food .. and privacy. Really .. a lot of privacy.
Lonno Lodge, is set high on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, in Watamu, a small village, on the north Kenyan Coast. We are not overlooked by any other buildings and have 360 degrees of panoramic views over the protected Marine Park and Reserve.
We opened to the public early 2009 and have focused our attention particularly on the level of service we wanted to provide our guests. Here at Lonno Lodge you can receive, if you wish, the personalized service you can expect from an exclusive hotel, mixing service with attention to the customer's needs, and maximum privacy with the beauty of a life on the Indian Ocean.
Lonno Lodge has 7 private suites situated in the 'Tower' overlooking the ocean and the pool. Each suite is carefully designed with stylish Swahili, Italian influences. For more detailed information please see The Lodge
Our restaurant is very small and more importantly, is exclusive for our guests only. This means that it will never be crowded and that every guest will get personal attention. Not only for the service, but for the menu as well!
We're ready to take care of specific dietary needs, from allergies to vegetarians, from gluten-free meals to vegan diets, but in any case our chefs will prepare wonderful lunches and dinners with local fresh ingredients, for both local kenyan dishes and international cuisine.
And you're not limited to a standard menu, simply because we do not have a "standard" menu. Sure, we have dishes that are part of our daily cooking simply because they're yummy and tasty, and for sure we'll suggest you dishes from the Swahili tradition, but you're also invited to let us know your requests, your needs or simply preferences, and we'll do our best to satisfy your wishes.
The swimmingpool, filled with salt water, is the centre of the daily activites, or the centre of the relaxing activites, simply laying around is a pretty common sight at Lonno. We offer free use of sunbeds and towels, as well as water shoes for a romantic walk at low tide and mountain bikes for more adventurous rides in Watamu. Do you prefer to enjoy a cocktail at the Pool Bar? Or maybe indulge on a de-stressing Swedish Massage? No need to move from Lonno, we have them all. Oh, by the way, every day at 5 p.m. we offer a complimentary Tea time.
The reception is opened 24hrs and our friendly staff is always available for a chat, or to provide info on local attractions, or suggestion for a day trip, or simply to let you relax on your own. No noises, no beach animation, no disco .. only sea, breeze, stars and an incredible nature to explore. Of course if you do feel you need to reach the outside world we do have free WIFI available.
